Biographie
Harry Guardino (* 23. Dezember 1925 als Harold Vincent Guardino in New York City, New York, USA; † 17. Juli 1995 in Palm Springs, Kalifornien, USA) war ein US-amerikanischer Film- und Theaterschauspieler. Seit Beginn der 1950er Jahre stand er sowohl bei Film und Fernsehen, aber auch am Broadway im Rampenlicht. International bekannt wurde Guardino 1958 mit dem Film Hausboot, für den er 1959 für den Golden Globe Award ausgezeichnet wurde. Guardino, der durch sein Äußeres meist Schurkenrollen offeriert bekam, trat meist in Fernsehserien auf. Eine seiner bekanntesten Rollen in einem Spielfilm war jene des Barabbas in Nicholas Rays Bibelverfilmung König der Könige aus dem Jahr 1961. Auch stand Guardino 1971 in Dirty Harry sowie nochmals fünf Jahre später in Dirty Harry III – Der Unerbittliche als Vorgesetzter von Clint Eastwoods Hauptfigur vor der Kamera.
